The Domino application data had grown far more than expected so we were able to archive the oldest data, but still make it available, so that the application could perform as needed.
We all know that Domino has its limits. Be that the size of file attachments that are added, or the sheer number of documents that you need to create. Using NSF2 you can archive off older documents or inactive documents to our servers and leave your Domino application with just the data it needs to run day to day. The huge advantage of this approach is that you can still access the archived data in real time without painful configuration of archive databases. And you can keep adding documents to the NSF2 database as and when you need to archive more content.
